Bike Fitting

We Offer The Dynamic Fit Process

Regardless of what type of cycling you enjoy, you'll benefit from a bike that has been properly adjusted to fit your body and your riding style.

About the Dynamic Fit Process

  • Traditional bicycle fit methods utilize static measurements from your skeletal structure to place you in the “ideal” riding position. While these methods are not incorrect, they are unable to specifically identify the optimal position for maximum comfort and efficiency. By being able to adjust the bike while you pedal, we can actively fine tune your position, with real time feedback, to generate the most personalized fit for you and your body. We can even tilt the Guru Fit Bike up to 18 degrees in both directions, providing the sensation of climbing and descending.

Common questions about a bike fit

Why get a fitting?

  • Getting fit will not only allow you to ride as efficiently and comfortably as possible, but it will allow us to identify the right bike for you. Whether New Bike Day is around the corner or down the road, after your fit, we’ll know the best brand, model, and size of bike necessary to match your ideal position within a few millimeters. The bike we have to change the least, will ride the best. If you currently have a bike, we’ll adjust it as closely as possible to your fit measurements

Should I wait until I’m in shape to get a bike fit?

  • Nope. If you’re not comfortable or optimized on your bike, getting into ‘cycling fitness’ will be very difficult and unpleasant. As your fitness changes, your physiology will also change, which can result in a need for minor adjustments down the road. Typically, these updates are small and very rarely require another full fit, or a change in equipment.

What if I have a specific issue?

  • If you have a specific issue - saddle discomfort, knee pain, foot issues, etc. - feel free to give Jason a call to discuss. Some problems may be due to your current fit, however, others may require assessments and adjustments that go beyond what a ‘perfect fit’ can achieve. These are typically existing issues, where your fit is not the key variable.

Tri Bike/Time Trial Fit (Tri Bikes only, new or existing) - $250 (parts extra)

  • Using the dynamic fit process, riding positions will be generated based on seat tube angle, beginning with 77 degrees, progressing to 82 degrees with .5 degree increments
  • After your top 3 positions are identified, arm pad placement takes priority and is fine-tuned to the optimal position
  • Utilizing spin scan and power analysis, your optimal position will be determined and finalized
  • With existing fits, your new position will be compared to your bike’s existing position. Then, your current bike will be measured out to your new specifications
With new bike fits, appropriate options will be discussed and chosen. A Final Fit will be scheduled when the bike is ready to verify specific measurements, proper shifting, accessories, etc

If the Shoe Fits

For maximum power transfer on the road or trail and for exceptional comfort on a spin bike, we recommend clipless cycling shoes and pedals. With stiffer soles and the ability to click into and out of your pedal system easily, cycling shoes make your ride and your workout more efficient, more effective, and more comfortable. Never get stuck in a toe cage again!
